Aigéan Marine Teoranta was established in 2020 to provide marine and offshore services to Northwest Europe. Our team is made up of highly experienced marine professionals, with over 60 years’ collective experience in the offshore energy sector and in the wider maritime industry.

Meet Our Directors
Aigean Marine was established in early 2020 and is based in the West of Ireland.
Collectively, our directors have a combined experience of over 60 years in the maritime industry, including anchor handling, diving, pipelay, construction, and platform supply vessels.
Together with our office staff, our team work closely with every client to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards.

Shane Heverin
Managing Director
Bsc; Master Mariner; IIMM
Shane started his career 19 years ago.
Before joining his first ship as a cadet, Shane and his co-founder Robert visited Far Saltire in the Port of Cork. That day, Shane declared that it was his intention to become a Master with Farstad Shipping.
Shane started his career with BP Shipping, moving from there to Farstad Shipping as a Third Officer in 2007, attaining his Master Mariner Certificate of Competency, and his first command in March 2015.
Since then, Shane has been Master on vessels all over the globe, with experience in supply, anchor-handling, research, and light construction / ROV operations.
Shane has in excess of 10,000 hours DP time logged, and has acquired comprehensive ship handling skills with both conventional and azimuth propulsion systems.
Shane has been involved in new build, dry-docking and other yard projects in both Europe and Asia, and currently conducts DP trials, and Equipment FMECA, for clients DNV.

Robert Conneely
Operations Director
Bsc; Master Mariner
Robert attained his Master Mariners Certificate of Competency in March 2015 and has 14 years experience in the offshore sector.
Robert commenced his career in 2002 with a Trinity House cadetship, as a class-mate of Shane’s.
Robert commenced employment with Farstad Shipping in 2006, attaining Chief Officer status. In 2014, Robert moved to Subsea7, where he has been involved in six new builds, most recently Seven Vega.
Robert has approximately 17,000 DP hours logged, and has carried out anchor handling and towing of semi-submersible platforms, platform supply, remotely operated vehicles, diving, rigid pipelay, heavy lifts of up to 5000t, subsea installations, management of marine units and windfarm installation on vessels with up to 399 crew. Robert has also been employed as Client Representative for an oil major on a North Sea project
Robert continues to work for Subsea7 as Tow Master and sits on a specialist committee, advising on engineering projects that are particularly challenging, focusing on the marine, towing, pipelay and HSEQ parts of the projects.

Barry Ward
Commercial Director
Bsc; Master Mariner
Barry started his career in 2000 with Maersk, making 2021 his 21st year in the maritime industry.
Barry remained with Maersk until 2009 and during this time was involved in the offshore energy sector, dry-docking and conversion / refit projects.
Barry commenced employment with Stena Line in 2009, achieving his Master Mariners Certificate of Competency in 2014 and took command of Stena Superfast 7 the same year.
In 2018 Barry established JJ Ward Marine, providing consultancy and professional services to the maritime industry in Ireland.
Since then Barry has gained invaluable experience on smaller sized vessels ranging from 24m to 37m, with various propulsions systems such as ASD and Voith Schneider systems.
Barry has volunteered with the RNLI for over 15 years.
